Average SAT math scores fall 1 point, but they're 9 points higher

SAT exam was taken by 1.2 million or 43%of high school graduates 

in 1999.
Scores up 9 points in math, 1 verbal vs 1989, but
down 6 points in math and 35 verbal vs 1969 "that's not good 
news" says College Board president, but does not take into 
account far fewer took test in 1969.


WA state, 52% of graduates take the test , 525 verbal, 426 math
vs. MA 78% took test math 511, verbal 511


[So much for Stanford reforms raising test scores] Scores dipped in
Seattle School district, down 3 points in verbal to 527 and down four
points in math to 526, district officials says 5 year rate shows
upward trend verbal up 24 and math up 14 [but are these the old
scores??]
