A ring on a tree does not stand for a year like they use to believe.  It 
wasn't till recently that they found that 1 ring stand for a period of time 
not just 1 year.  During the ice age layers of ice were compacted so tightely 
that the age of the ice was once upon a time mistaken.  Look up evolution in 
the dictionary and this is what you will find:  The theory that groups of 
organisms, such as species may change or develop over a long period of time 
so that descendants differ morphologically and physiologically from their 
ancestors.  I do understand were your beliefs come from though. I too 
believed in evolution for that is what I was taught in school.  Now that I am 
a parent of my own I do allot of research on the material in school 
textbooks.  That is when I started realizing that there are 2 forms of 
evolution: Microevolution and Macroevolution.
    Microevolution - The idea that things change to suit there enviorment  
ex.a cat or dogs gets more fur or hair in the colder regions than the warmer 
regions.  Or that there are different varieties of birds but they are still 
birds.  But this can be observed and can be proven.
    Macroevolution - The theory that everything came from a big bang and the 
first organism was formed and everything came from that.  This has never been 
seen so it can never be proven.  
    Also one of the big things evolutionist believe is that dinosaurs went 
extinct before man was ever on earth.  If this is true than why do they find 
man and dinosaur bones together.  I also have a picture that was taken in 
Texas that shows a Mans footprint inside of a dinosaurs footprint...This was 
found in a river bed that dried up and the imprints were fossilized.  If you 
look in a dictionary from around 1930's you will see the definition for 
Dinosaur as : rare but still existent animals.  Dinosaur bones are one of the 
main ways that the earth is dated and there is no way to tell how old 
dinosaur bones are if they were still alive in the early 1900's

On the stars there is no way for them to date the earth from them and the 
heavenly bodies for only the ones here when they were created will know 
exactly when they were made.
