Dear Arthur:
This school doesn't sound any different then the "alternative schools"
that we have in Colorado.  Jefferson County Open School  K-12 has existed
for at least 20 years.  Arnie Lanberg came from back  east (can't remember
where - maybe NY)  He started an alternative school there in the 60's.  
They have "portfolios" and "exit  outcomes" and hands on experience -
which include scubba diving trips and other "exloratory" learning
adventures.


Jeffco Open even had a camping trip in our beautiful mountains and the did
not keep close watch on their campfire and burnt down acres and acres of
forest land and threatened many homes.


What a learning experience!
