Thanks. The best source I have found on educational changes in Russia can be found at the Smith Research Center 102 at Indiana University, Bloomington. the Institute for the Study of Russian Education was established in 1989 and keeps apace the changes. Their mission is to collect and disseminate information, make contacts, exchanges. "ISRE participated in the Sochi conference, the springboard for the book "Creating and Managing the Democratic School". (Use interlibrary loan search). For those who missed an earlier message the salient points of this book outline the elements of a social democratic state dedicated to educating its citizens in participatory governance and creating autonomous minds in the 'upbringing' (vospitanie) of children. Parents are totalitarian if they instruct children in any form of 'doctrine' which is an anathma to the educrats who wish to 'educate for democracy', but they see this type of upbringing the essence of self-determinism and I'll bet the most expedient way to disinherit children from God's blessings and grace and chip away any memory of our Republican form of government in future generations. The website lists some of the partnerships. 1. Global Awareness Program at Florida International University. 2.
