PORTLAND ADOPTS INVENTED MATH \doc\web\99\07\portinv.txt This will soon be adopted by Lake Washington Schools despite objections from this lone parent. It's even worse than the bottom ranking Math Correct gave it, it's got sheet music to Bingo, and takes 2 hrs to prep for a one hour lesson, it won't teach you how to borrow or carry, and if you know, it's not acceptable anyways. The NCTM paper claimed that there is NO evidence of massive failure, despite dozens of horror stories of "programs implemented long enough to be proven". That's because district tend to dump the stuff as soon as it become apparent they've got a train wreck.
