About alaska: I know a bunch of the folks at the state department there.
they are not only universally wrong headed, they are absolutely committed
and convinced that they are right. The math specialist at the state
department said to me one day, describing her daughter's college education
at Northeaster U in boston : "It's awful. The professors still have the
attitude that they know something the students do not and their job is to
impart their knowldege to them"


So there we have it.
