f:\doc\web\98\07\ceousa.txt Thanks. I can't find any links from "racial preferences" to any of your college studies, maybe you need to fix that. My look at your data says that there appears to be a minor, but significant amount of bias for Asians at U Washington - lower verbal, lower math scores and higher dropout rate. The main evidence of bias towards Asians at law schools is severe over-representation at U Wash, and Stanford (Asians doubled one year to way-over-represented), also if you ask for the admission cells from the LSAS, it shows that Asians have a 99% chance of admission with slightly lower test scores and grades than whites - whites are only in the very top corner of perfect gpa and grades, but asians are in a few cells. (by contrast, blacks get 99% chance of admission over a wide range of test scores and grades). There's something for your folks to look at or I'll give you a direct link into my index of diversity into the data that shows that. My conclusion of UCLA and Berkeley is this 1984 - quotas keep whites at 50%, blacks/hisp increase, Asians decline 1985 - after complaints, white quota is dropped, white and Asian admission rate is same, but b/h increased again 1988 - b/h meet quota of 8% black 15% hispanic that was announced in 1983 In fact blacks read 12% at Berekeley. This only for fall at two campuses. 30% of class, mostly whites/asians admitted in winter, so quotas are only a fall illusion. 1990 - they drop b/h quotas, take filipinos off of preferences, eliminate automatic admission of all minorities. 1993 - filipino admission rate fall dramatically to below foreign students, become under-represented for first time 1997 - preferences allegedly dropped. I also found that since proportionally about double the number of Asian women apply to engineering schools like MIT, preferences for Asian women turn into an ethnic preference, and neither Jewish nor Asian women are under-represented at institutions like MIT which often give preferences to women. Logically, only groups of women who are under-represented should be given preference, so white christian women should be preferred over Asian and Jewish women! Thanks!
