EXITING STANDARDS IS AVAILABLE AT SPECIFIC LIBRARY LOCATIONS OR FIND
IT ON THE EXITING STANDARDS WEBSITE

"Examples are not meant to be an exhaustive list, or applications
that every student must master..." Well then what use is it if only a
few can be expected to master these?
Note - these are MATH standards, there are separate vocational and
science standards.
What do I think - this is totally nuts. This is college level stuff
for chrissakes, I went through MIT and didn't do all these things.
Set up a spreadsheet to solve financial or statistical problems
Use graphing calculators (most are above $50) or computers to solve
applied problems
Utilize computers for manufacturing process control
Compute compound interest from the number of compounding periods,
principal and annual interest rate
Determine the amount of concrete needed for a foundation or a driveway
Use trigonometry to indirectly measure the height of a tree or a
building from the length of its shadow
Analyze AC circuits using trigonometric functions
Use computer assisted drafting and design
Understand and apply leverage
Calibrate scientific instruments
Convert acres to hectares
Model voltage, current, and resistance in electrial circuits
Analyze data in manufacturing process control
Collect and analyze data in financial audits
Conduct a voluntary response poll.
Read 3-dimensional graphs
Solve braking and acceleration problems for automobiles
Find trajectories for falling objects such as baseballs
Solve simple linear systems of equations or inequalities such as (x +
y = 7, 2x + 3y = 21)
Do break-even analysis given linear supply and demand
Find feasible regions for manufacturing processes. Part of linear
programming important in many manufacturing situations.
Use an oscilloscope
Display function graphs on computer displays.
Analyze volume of a gas vs temp and pressure
Understand cards, dice and lotteries.
