If you've been missing the days when Charlie Chong waved signs on your street corner or shook things up at City Hall, not to worry: The one-time city councilman is headed direct to your living room. Chong lost his bid for mayor of Seattle last year, but now has won a much-coveted six-month spot on public-access television. At prime time, no less. A self-described "man of the people," Chong will use his one-hour slot to showcase, well, people. Among the first to be invited to "The Chong Report" will be a Ballard fisherman and a Metro bus driver. Chong also will present awards, including the "pot stirrer," complete with a long-handled wooden spoon, for an activist making trouble for the establishment. And he'll single out a leader or an elected official each month for the "geoduck" award, which Chong likes to call "spineless in Seattle." The show will air the second Tuesday of each month, beginning April 14, at 6 p.m. on Channel 29. ==== Posted by Jesse Malkin
