I decided to go on-line to see if I could find any info on the rest of the Hot Wheels train line, but of the 15-20 Hot Wheels sites I visited, yours was the only one with any info at all. Have you come across anything else about their train line? What little I know about the line is mostly from trips to toy stores during the mid-1980s. There was a large playset called the Railroad Freight Yard with the Santa Fe FP45 engine you mentioned, a Santa Fe caboose, a Railbox box car, and a Conrail bulkhead flat car. A year or two later there was a smaller playset with a Rio Grande GP38 type engine and a Soo Line (I think) bulkhead flat car. I also recall there were sets consisting of just an engine and two cars, no track or playset. I am wondering if the locos and cars were ever offered individually. The Chessie GP38 I have has a button on the roof, just behind the cab; pushing it makes a figure pop out of one of the cab doors. From the photo it appears that your Chessie doesn't have this feature...is this so? I hope you have been able to find some more info on these trains...I am curious about what else was made. Aric Peery Troy, NY aric@nycap.rr.com [arthur] Not much is written about these guys, but some of the newer hot wheels books list prices for these guys, I've typically picked up one or two pices for $5 each. As far as I know they only made the gp low-nose gp38 and FP40 in santa fe, amtrack, chessie. The gp I have has a broken mechanism, but there is a guy that was on a seperate part that I lost. I have a video with a picture of the large set, but I have not done a vidcap on it yet. I'll post your remarks on my page.
