Nick Tovo 10/23/97 From: "Tovo, Nick 19th PAD Bld 15" Subject: memories Date sent: Thu, 23 Oct 97 22:45:00 PDT Mr. Hu, I was surfing the net and came across your Hot Wheels web page. Great job! I really was taken back in time when I saw the 1970 Catalog. I instantly drifted back into time. I was at my best friend Kevin's house on a warm summer afternoon. That was the first time I saw it. I remember turning the pages, staring at the cars and dreaming of what it would be like to own everything in the 1970 catalog. I instantly traded Kevin a bunch of cool cars just to have that catalog (one of those, incidentally, was an S'Cool Bus)! I cherished the thing and read it until the pages wore out. My mother had to finally tape it together for me. During that time, my Hot Wheels collection grew and grew. But boy's interests change and I moved on to different things. The last time I saw that catalog was about 1975 in my closet. It was worn and tattered, but it brought this boy more good times and dreams than anyone could imagine. I lost track of it over the years, as I lost track of my best friend Kevin. But, I'm glad that there are still people still interested in Hot Wheels and who can bring a little joy back to those who have such fond recollections of those little cars from California. Thanks again! Ross Schlichting tovon@msmail.kuwait.army.mil
