published in Journal of the American Medican Association 


Of 45 families in which one parent was diagnosed as having AIDS,
and other partner with no risk factors other than exposure to
partner, 13 were already infected at the start of the study,
13 others developed AIDS during the study (usually 2 years). 
Of the 13, 12 had sexual intercourse without condoms. Study
included 109 children 3 months to 24 yrs and 29 other household
members. 15 of children had AIDS or AIDS related complex, all
from before or during birth.
