Mel and Norma Gabler, well-respected educational research analysts and
authorities in the field of textbook evaluation, will be visiting
Federal Way this month.  Please take advantage of their time in our

crusade for better textbooks, having appeared both in the print media
and on notable television programs which have revealed and applauded the


wonderful work performed by the Gablers in 'educating' our citizenry
about the content of certain textbooks, and


Whereas Mel and Norma Gabler have received international acclaim in
their pursuit of better textbooks, having responded to parents,
teachers, and other concerned people in every state in the United
States, and over 40 foreign countries, ...


Resolved, that the Texas State Board of Education does hereby honor and
commend Mel and Norma Gabler of Longview, Texas, for 38 years of
sacrificial service, both in textbook review and in the textbook
adoption process in Texas, the United States, and the world; and for
their unwavering faithfulness to a cause which ultimately benefits all
the children we strive to educate"
