He is a long time opponent of privatization of education and of standardized testing. He will speak briefly towards the latter part of the event. At 6:30 he will be giving a public address at the Wong Auditorium at MIT (corner of Amherst and Wadsworth, between Main and Memorial Drive, around the corner from Kendall Square T stop). We have discussed a return visit to these parts, that would be focused on high stakes tests and public education. If any of you would be supportive of such an event, and in particular, would be interested in planning for it, please let me know. You can download a sample test compared with benchmarks, and check out my campaign site at www.hu4spi.com. I'm #2 in the race, which is good enough to make it past the primary and be a serious challenger, even if it's still a long shot to win. I don't know how you select your super in MASS, but our is up for re-election this fall, and as far as I know, this is the only race where the challenger promises to kill high stakes testing. I'm still for IQ and SAT tests for picking out the top 5%, but it's nuts to do this stuff to everybody. I'm attaching the word document for a 2 sided tri-fold flyer. Half of my contributions are from out of state, I suspect that if WA falls, the other states will follow once I go online and tell the world how stupid these tests are. If you think you can get people to distribute these, I could even fed-ex a pile of these fliers to you.
