Subject:        	News Release - Lawsuit Filed Against Delaine Eastin & CDE


The American Society for Ethics (ASEE) in Education commends Rene Amy (as
reported by the Pasadena Star-News on March 3, 2000) for filing a lawsuit
against Delaine Eastin, California Superintendent of Public Instruction and
the California Department of Education. It is ASEE's belief that both
Delaine Eastin and the California Department of Education (CDE) have caused
great harm to the children of this state and we have recently been notified
that there may be another investigation, by the US Attorney's Office, in
Sacramento, on allegations of unethical/illegal practices by the CDE.
